HPM launches new Bike Fitting service for cyclists of all levels

High Performance Method enriches its offer with the introduction of Bike Fitting, a service designed and created to optimise the position in the saddle, conceived for cyclists of all levels, from young athletes to two-wheel enthusiasts.

Bike Fitting aims to maximise performance, prevent injuries, and guarantee ideal comfort during every ride.

It is a complete and highly customised process that goes beyond simply adjusting the bike’s measurements. A process that takes about 2 hours, using assessments and adjustments designed to suit the physical structure, needs and goals of each rider.

Offering the customised assistance at HPM are Wladimir Belli, a former professional cyclist, Giorgio Ripamonti, a university lecturer and FIDAL trainer, and Martina Nobis, a graduate in motor sciences, osteopathic massage therapist, and physiotherapist: a dedicated team to help each rider reach the top of his or her abilities.

HPM’s Bike Fitting consists of five stages, starting with the initial anamnesis: an in-depth assessment of the cyclist’s sporting history and specific needs, including the recording of anthropometric measurements, to gather valuable data and identify any previous problems or strengths to work on.

The next step is to set up the saddle and adjust the components, starting with an accurate adjustment of pedals, saddle, and handlebars, aimed at improving pedalling efficiency and reducing stress on joints and muscles.

Once the position has been set, we proceed with a functional assessment that uses biomechanical analysis tools to detect any misalignments or muscle weaknesses. After this phase, it is still possible to refine the posture to reduce the risk of injury.

The FTP (Functional Threshold Power) test performed on rollers allows the cyclist’s level of cardiorespiratory endurance to be measured and the efficiency of ‘new pedalling’ to be assessed. The data collected provides precise indications for further customising the training programme, adapting it to the ability to withstand high intensities.

If necessary, a massage therapy session designed to relax the muscles and improve circulation is also provided to aid recovery and reduce any tensions arising from sporting activity.
